Duke City BMX step 1 repair completed

Last night we had a handful of volunteers come down to the track to help with the repair of the recent water damage. The group of people that came to the track to work had great success and due to their hard work the track will be open for practice this evening.

Step #2 the applying of "soiltac" to the repaired areas will be scheduled in the near future.

Duke City BMX would like to thank the volunteers that took the time away from their families last night to make sure the track is safe and usable. Without our volunteers we would not have a track to race on all year long!

Riders and parents please do your part to help keep our track clean and operational, the next time you are at the track offer to volunteer or clean up. Our track is a community track and it takes all of our collective effort to make it happen.

Duke City BMX volunteers ROCK!

Thank you!

Riders, parents and fans,

We now have a plan for the repair of the water damage done to the track.
Work starts this evening!

You are invited to come help with the track repair. (This is not a hang out session this is a track work effort) The sooner we are able to restore the track the sooner we can start practice on this Wed.

Come help support your track work starts at 6pm tonight!

* this is step one of the track repair, respraying of "Soiltac" will be scheduled after the dirt work has been completed.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Racing Update Duke City BMX Closed this Weekend

* phone picture of flood

Attention Riders and parents,

Last night the track suffered severe water damage thus racing for this Friday Night the 17th and Sunday the 19th has been officially cancelled.

The Main water supply was turned on without our knowledge and the track was severely flooded.
This poses a unique challenge as we just finished the final chemical seal to the track recently. This chemical treatment is a "no water sealer" and due to the amount of water that was released onto the track we are forced to close the track until the damage is repaired. We may be sending out a request for member help to restore the track as well.

We would encourage all Duke City BMX riders and families to take advantage of the racing weekend at Riverside BMX in Aztec NM.

Updates on our track repair will be posted as soon as we have had the damage fully assesed and have a plan on our next step.

We apologize for the loss of any points or opportunity to have access to the Duke City BMX track. We are working with the company that caused the damage and the City.We look forward to our world class track to be repaired in a timely manner.

Redline Cup & NM State Qualifer #2 at Riverside BMX

This weekend in Aztec! Redline Cup on Saturday the 18th and NM State Qualifier #2 on Sunday the 19th in Aztec NM. More info on the Riverside BMX website at the following link http://riversidebmx.blogspot.com/

The Redline Cup is another ABA race series that Riders can compete in. By participating any any single Redline Cup Riders qualify to compete for a Title and plate at the Redline Cup National Final! The Redline Cup is held at ABA tracks accross the country leading up to the Final.

Additional information on the Redline Cup Series can be found a http://www.ababmx.com/

The State Championship series is an opportunity for riders to compete and earn a state title and plate based on overall points in a given class and age group. This weekend Aztec is hosting the NM State Qualifier #2. Riders who wish to compete for a ABA NM State Title must compete in at least 2 NM State Qualifiers this year to qualify for a NM State Title.

A reminder that even if a rider does not compete in the two qualifiers any ABA Rider may race in the final State Championship Race that will held later in the season at Duke City BMX. However riders who do not race at least 2 State Qualifiers will not be eligible for the State Championship Titles this season.

The NM State Redline Cup & Championship Series are wonderful opportunities for local riders in all areas of New Mexico and we encourage all ABA Riders to participate this year in either series.

At this time Bad Lands in Los Lunas has not yet scheduled a NM State qualifier for this season. The ABA has provided the Los Lunas track until August 7 to hold a State Qualifier. We will post any updates that become available about a possible NM State Qualifiers #3 that we receive.

As a final reminder no racing at Duke City BMX on this Friday the 17th or Sunday the 19th due to flooding. Please support the Riverside BMX events in Aztec.
