This Sunday "Can You See Us NOW?" Memorial Ride after the races
Duke City BMX riders, parents and fans have received the below invitation to participate in a special Memorial Ride honoring cyclist that have lost thier lives on the streets and roads of NM.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Just wanted to send out a reminder about the memorial ride this Sunday. It will start at 4 pm from Jefferson and Central. Riders can come early and sign in at 4600 Copper NE, at High Desert Yoga. There is no fee for this event, but there are numbers that riders can wear, numbers with the names of fallen cyclists. The ride goes down Route 66, through Nob Hill, down town and Old Town, to Tiguex park. There we will have a rally where the names of the 100 New Mexico cyclists who have died in crashes with motor vehicles in the past 20 years will be read. Representatives from Senator Bingaman's office and Rep. Heinrich's office will read short statements next, followed by myself and another BikeABQ board member Ben Savoka giving short speaches. There will be music, some give aways and beverage refreshements at Tiguex park. Hope many BMX riders can join us.

The 2009 NM State BMX Championship was a huge event and had great attendance over the 3 days.
This was a great race series and we would like to thank all the volunteers that helped make it possible!
Many took advantage of the opportunity to purchase a shirt and visit our concession. If any rider fan or parent did not get a chance to puchase a shirt they will remain on sale in the registration office.

Change to State Qualifier Requirements for 09 NM State Championship
* Update The ABA has adjusted the requirements for the NM State Championship series and has reduced the number of required state qualifiers in NM to 1 for the 09 series. This means that if you have raced at least 1 state qualifier in NM the ABA will allow riders to compete in the State Championship final for a state Plate and title.
This change was mostly influenced by the 3rd NM ABA track not being available to host a state qualifier within the required Timeframe.
If you have any questions regarding this change please contact the ABA at www.ababmx.com
