Olympic BMX Gold Medalist Maris Stromberg and 2000 other riders from as far as Japan battled it out at Duke City BMX today for points & trophy's.
The Albuquerque weather was great as boy & girl riders of all ages engaged in the intense racing action. Go211.com was on hand to broadcast the races live over the web. Moto count for day 1 of the Spring Nationals was right at 200 and overall the event was simply awesome.

Supernationals Pre Race Rocks Albuquerque
Today in Albuquerque New Mexico the largest BMX Race of the year began with the Pre-Race to the 2010 ABA Spring Nationals. Well known Olympics competitor Kyle Bennett, along with international riders and riders from many US states were taking care to get familiar with the covered track.
Many of the aggressive riders took a shot at mastering the Pro Section that proves challenging for even the most seasoned rider. BMX Manufacturer Race teams arrived in full effect to do what they do best. While officials from Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) looked on. This is the first time for the UCI to see the 81,000 square feet of covered BMX Racing fun. The size of the dedicated BMX facility had most in awe.
While visiting families stood in line to register talk of great local restaurants, green chili and the Los Altos Skate Park were heard. Most stated they were staying in nearby hotels.
The official event shirt featured well known local rider Larry Miyamoto who lives in Albuquerque and rides for 505 Racing. Larry's efforts along with other Duke City BMX volunteers was key in preparing the surface of the track for this event.
This event is open to the public and admisson is free for spectators. Albuquerque City Park rules apply no pets, no smoking, no alcoholic beverages permitted on site.
Spring National Day 1 starts tomorrow, scheduled practice begins at 8am with racing to begin 11:30.

Supernationals Pre Race Starts Today!
The 2010 ABA Supernationals weekend begins with the Pre-Race today!
As visitors arrive in Albuquerque many make thier way to Duke City BMX ot register for the weekend of World Class competition at Duke City BMX.
The weather is warm and sunny and there is plenty to to for families and riders that have made the trip to New Mexico to participate in the Supernationals. Attendees hope to see other riders from out side the country as the UCI points series continues as well.
Recent news that Olympic Medalist Mike "365" Day was recently diagnosed with injuries to discs his back and underwent corrective surgery on May 10th for it. No news yet on if we will see Mike Day or other Team USA Olympic riders like Jill Kitner or Donny Robinson at this weekends event.
Moto counts promise to be large either way during the weekend as comments online are posted about how amazingly smooth the Duke City Track surface is. GO211.com will be broadcasting the races LIVE from the event so those who could not attend can watch the racing action online.
Many describe the Spring Nationals as their favorite National Race location. On site Registration at the ABA Trailer starting at 2pm, scheduled practice sessions begin at 2:30pm with racing to follow at 6pm.

Riders make it to Duke City BMX early from far away
Weds night practice at Duke City BMX tonight experienced a bump in the usual flow.
Riders who plan to compete in this weekends 2010 Spring National begin to arrive early to get some additional track time. Riders in Vehicles from states as far as Illinois, Missouri and New York suited up to ride the track.
Factory Redline team riders Denzel Stein & Jason Carnes are taking advantage of the warm New Mexico weather to dial their attack for the weekend along with other visiting pro riders. Home town favorite National #1 Vet Pro Rider Kenth Fallen is prepared to entertain the competitors in his class for the upcomming weekend while defending his title.
Family RV's and BMX industry vehicles have already grabbed some of the key parking spots in the auxiliary parking area.
Duke City BMX in preparation for the event has set up the new pre-staging rail system for year round use.
This Spring Nationals weekend should be a wonderful time with a record attendance expected and the weather report promising good things as well!

Duke City BMX ready for 2010 Spring Nationals
Duke City BMX volunteer staff has prepped the track for the 2010 Spring Nationals to be held next weekend in Albuquerque NM. This is the Largest BMX Racing event of the year at the track and consistantly draws riders from all over the globe to compete in the event.

ABA Truck Arrives for 2010 Spring Nationals at Duke City BMX
This year we expect to see riders from outside the US as well as a few Olympic Medalists with the introduction of the first UCI competition at Duke City BMX during the Spring Nationals.
Duke City BMX with the support of the City of Albuquerque has installed a ProGate. ProGate is the manufacturer that produced the competition BMX gate for the Olympic BMX competition in Beijing China.
For those of you that would like to get on the track before the Spring Nationals the weekly Gate Practice at Duke City BMX will be running on Weds the 26th. 3.00 for all ABA Members.
All visitors Duke City BMX is on city property so all city park rules apply, no smoking, no pets, no alcoholic beverages are allowed, bikes are not to be stored in the bleachers.
We are excited to have the American Bicycle Association (ABA) and the BMX - Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) at our facility and hope that all visitors enjoy their visit. Duke City BMX welcomes all riders to the World Largest Covered full time BMX Racing facility!
