Can I come watch for free?
Yes, Duke City BMX is open to the public.
Who Can race?
Any rider that can ride a bike unassisted (training wheels or being held on bike) is welcome to try our sport.
We have riders as young as 3 years old to over 50! Riders are grouped together by age group & skill
level in 3 levels. All new riders begin as Novice.
Can Girls race too?
Heck Yah! Girls are fast! At Duke City BMX we have some of the fastest girls in the country!
Will I get to ride on the same track as the Pro Riders?
Yes! All riders race on the same track!
Can I ride my own bike on the track?
Yes, if your bike has the kick stand, reflector, pegs & chain guard removed most bikes can be
acceptable for track use. Riders have used freestyle bikes, department store bikes, Mountain bikes,
Downhill bikes and cyclecross bikes on our track.

Is BMX expensive?
BMX like any sport can be expensive if you require the latest in equipment and bike. Most new riders take
advantage of our free loaner bike & gear program to see if they enjoy the sport before they begin purchase
their own bike & gear.
Do I have to be a member?
Duke City BMX is a world class BMX Racing Facility our track is sanctioned by the American Bicycle
Association (ABA). The ABA requires all riders are registered to gain access to the track. Duke City BMX
offers different membership options.
1 day free membership - great for trying it out!
30 Day Trail Membership - $25.00 Good at Duke City BMX includes ABA insurance coverage.
12 month annual Membership -
Full ABA competition membership, access to over 280 tracks across the country, gain points at other
tracks and bring your points home with you! Includes ABA insurance coverage & subscription to
Monthly ABA publication the BMX'r.
Is there daily track fees?
Yes, Daily track fees are:
Weds PM practice is 3.00
Friday night ribbon/ point racing during the summer schedule 6.00
Sunday trophy/ point racing 10.00
Do I have to be on a team?
No, unlike most team sports BMX is an individual competition each rider is racing for their own position, if
the rider is on a race team they still compete individually. In BMX nobody has to sit on the bench in BMX
everyone gets a chance to qualify for the main event!
Is Duke City BMX operated by the City?
No, Duke City BMX is a 5013C non profit organization that operates, manages & maintains the facility
with 100% volunteers. Duke City BMX has an annually nominated Board of Directors, volunteer committee
members as well as help from riders, parents, family & friends.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! We are always seeking volunteers on track days or for special projects,to get started just let us know
at the registration office on any track day.

Is training offered?
Duke City BMX is home to some of the fastest riders in the country, we have state champions, regional
champions, national champions, international champions & US Olympic trainees. Riders come from all over
the globe to race & train at Duke City BMX. We do have local professionals and veteran riders that offer

Is there a bike shop on site?
Yes! Duke City BMX has a track shop that sells parts, gear & bikes for riders check out
